Class Descriptions
This listing is meant to give you a brief overview of the classes that we offer. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please speak with the instructor prior to class participation.
Lo Impact: |
Choreographed routines, aerobic conditioning. |
Basic Box: |
Combines punches and footwork with jump rope interval, shadow boxing, speed drills and strength training. |
Interval: |
Class is segmented with cardio, weights, etc, into various time intervals |
Zumba: |
High Energy Latin Rhythms, easy to follow routines with interval training with slow and fast rhythms and resistance training combined to sculpt and tone. This class is so much fun. All are welcome and non-members can pay by the class. |
Stretch: |
Slow extension and flexing of the muscles and tendons for overall fitness and wellness. |
Yoga: |
Easy and flowing movements and breathing. |
Step: |
Intense workout, improving cardiovascular conditioning. (all levels) |
Latin Dance: |
Exciting class, great energy and rhythm. |
Core Exercises: |
No frills, just a hard abdominal workout. 30-40 minutes of continuous abs. |
Upper Body Workout: |
Focus on all of the muscles groups of the upper body, arms, ab’s |
Thighs, Butts,and Guts: 1 & 2 |
Excellent lower body exercises with a focus on strengthening and toning. The use of hand weights for T, B, G, 2 |
Spinning: |
An intense cardiovascular workout and a complete athletic body/mind training system. |
Strength and Conditioning: |
A total body workout. Use of weights, bodybars, bands, etc. Uses all major muscle groups. |
Dao Yin Yoga: |
A form of the Taoist discipline of yoga, said to help heal illness, process stress, and increase flexibility, strength, grace and endurance. |
Mat Pilates: |
Based on the workout principles of Joseph Pilates. Floor exercises focusing on strength and flexibility. |
Power Yoga: |
(Ashtunga) Sequencing movements developing core strength, flexibility and postural alignment |
Never taken a class before?
Try our basic step and low impact aerobic classes. Introduce yourself to the instructor before the class and they will be glad to explain anything you should know prior to starting out.
For Your Information:
Please do not join in a class after the 10 minute warm-up is over. Proper aerobic footwear is required. Classes will vary slightly, depending on the instructor, and/or substitute instructor. Class time, content, and instructor are subject to change. If you need to modify your workout, please do so in the back of the room. Not every class is suited for every person, so if you find it unsatisfying, please try another. Instructors enjoy enthusiasm and high levels of excitement. Before leaving the class, please return your equipment to its proper place. Please be quiet while you are waiting for your class to begin.
